New Restaurant in Meaford – reeds

reeds restaurant bar opens in Meaford

Frontangle
Go to reeds.  Seriously.  I’ve only had finger food so far and I dream about it.  I’m going for lunch on Saturday – yay!

A disclaimer is probably in order.  Chef Jesse Reed is a friend, Jim Reed, the co-author of Living in the Country, is his father, and I’m designing the restaurant website.

Last Wednesday was the ribbon cutting and there was a reception for friends, family, and people who worked on the renovation.  I don’t really know Meaford but everyone I talked to was eagerly anticipating the ‘official’ Friday opening.  They had already made reservations for dinner.

Burgers
So, back to the food …. mini elk burgers – absolutely delicious, moist and flavourful – I went to the 100 Mile Market the next day to buy some – a scallop and shrimp ceviche served on a cucumber slice, tiny mozzarella and prosciutto pizzas on puff pastry,  and individual mushroom ravioli with cheese sauce.   All delicious.

I was busy talking to people and eating so didn’t take take many pictures although I did manage to take some of the ribbon cutting.
