I suppose we could have called this blog “Living in the Country in Southwestern Ontario near the Bruce Peninsula and Lake Huron, in Grey County and Huron County and Bruce County, about 2 ½ hours from Toronto” but by the time you typed that into your browser you would have forgotten what you were looking for.
OK, maybe not everyone would have forgotten but I’m at an age where I would have forgotten.
Do all urban dwellers dream of a rural life? Hardly. Some of us do but some of us never even think about it until we find ourselves living in the country. By design or by accident.
Some of us have weekend homes and vacation homes in the country. Or, if you’re from Ontario, we have cottages. In other parts of Canada we have camps and cabins. We live with a foot in the city and a foot in the country.
What’s living in the country like – is a rural life different than an urban life?
Yes, it’s very different. Some parts of rural life are absolutely wonderful and some parts are so frustrating that they can leave you gasping in disbelief. It’s not for everyone but maybe it is for you. And maybe our vignettes of country life will help you decide to move to the country.
